Last night, our precious bunny Fluffy was unwell. He didn’t want to eat, moved very slowly, and acted strangely. We knew he was sick. We called several emergency vets in our area, and they all said we had to bring him in immediately. My partner and I were very worried, in tears, and anxious. My mind was filled with negative thoughts like: what if Fluffy dies? How can I live without him? It will be miserable if I can’t see him anymore.
However, I remembered a tool I had studied: worrying and negative thoughts never help or solve anything. Instead, I kept telling myself, “Fluffy will be okay. Let’s focus on the solution rather than the problem.” So, I contacted a friend who has bunnies, and she gave us advice on what to do. I also switched my thoughts to positive ones and became calmer after adopting this mindset. I even told my partner, “Fluffy will be okay. Don’t worry, let’s focus on solutions.” Fortunately, Fluffy was fine in the end.
During that stressful time, I could have been overwhelmed by worry and negative thoughts. Instead, I focused on “what will save him, what strategies we have, and what are the options.” This simple tactic saved me again. I can’t express how much this technique has influenced my life. I regularly revisit it to remind myself of its power.
