One of my favourite tools for staying energised is very simple — balance.
For me, balance means eating small portions of food, not over-studying, not over-watching, not over-exercising, and not overthinking.
If I have class all day or a three-hour ice hockey training session, I make sure to take enough breaks.
Last week, I unintentionally broke this rule.
During a three-hour training session, the rink clock was broken because a puck hit it, so I lost track of time and didn’t take my usual breaks.
The result? I felt sluggish the whole day, had no motivation, and ended up sleeping for 15 hours.
That experience reminded me how important balance is.
When I keep things moderate, I notice I have more energy, a clearer mind, and my motivation lasts much longer.![]()
