Why don’t I have enough energy for doing things that are important to me?
Then I realised something.
Sometimes, I use too much of my brain energy thinking about the past, replaying upsetting situations, or worrying about things I can’t change.
But does thinking about them change the result?
Usually, no.
It just leaves me mentally tired.
So now, when I notice myself going back to unhelpful thoughts, I ask:
“Is this thought helping me, or is it using up my energy?”
If I can’t change the situation, I try to bring my attention back to what matters to me.
I want to use my energy for things that help me grow, learn, create, connect with others, and enjoy my life.
I’ve learned that I don’t have to solve every thought that comes into my mind.
Sometimes, I can simply let it go and save my energy for what truly matters.
My energy is limited. I want to spend it wisely.
Reflection question:
What is using up your energy today that you could let go of?
