I just made $1,500 by selling stock. You would think I would be happy, right? However, I felt uncomfortable because I realized I could have made $300 more. This experience highlights how your perspective can shape your feelings.
For example, if I think, “I made $1,500. This is great. Better than nothing. I’m so lucky,” I will be grateful. Instead, unconsciously, I thought, “Why did I listen to my partner’s advice? Because of that, I made $300 less.” I wanted to sell the stock at a higher price than my partner suggested, but I followed his advice and earned less than I originally intended. Those thoughts made me miserable.
However, I switched my mindset to, “I am so lucky. I earned $1,500 without doing much. That’s better than nothing.” I felt thankful to my partner for helping me sell the stock. Immediately, I felt great, fortunate, and grateful to my partner. Isn’t it amazing how your perspective shapes your emotions and feelings?
I have learned that if I want to feel great and happier, I need to switch my perspective and mindset positively.
