Yesterday morning, I felt really down after an argument with my brother.
But what lifted me wasn’t a deep talk or a long rest.
It was laughing and connecting with the kids at our Sunday ice hockey session.
A friend once asked, “How do you keep showing up every Sunday for over 15 months without missing a session?”
It may seem like I’m helping the kids, but really, they’re helping me.
Helping children to learn hockey has given me so much joy, connection, and purpose — it clears away sadness and stress.
Literally, I’ve been receiving pure energy from the children each Sunday.
And when one girl said yesterday “You’re my best friend,” it completely turned my day around.
Sometimes, the best way to heal yourself is by showing up for others. 💙
