Why is it sometimes so hard to forgive, especially when it comes to family?
I’ve noticed that when I let go of anger and hurt, I begin to feel lighter.
Sometimes, I still don’t want to forgive, but I remind myself that I’m not perfect either. I’ve made mistakes and hurt others too, sometimes without even realising it.
I’m learning that forgiving doesn’t mean accepting hurtful behaviour or pretending nothing happened. It means allowing myself to move forward without letting the hurt control my life.
I also don’t need to force myself to forgive before I’m ready. I can take my time, understand my feelings, and heal one step at a time.
Today, I want to focus less on changing others and more on what I can change within myself.
I’m still learning to let go, to understand rather than blame, and to choose peace over resentment. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I’m growing slowly and becoming more peaceful with myself.![]()
